Thomas James, local restaurant marketer at Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse, tells us about his restaurant’s dining experience, which specializes in nearly 40 years of expertise in fire-roasting high-quality meats utilizing the centuries-old southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco.
How does your company help others become more effective?
Our company strives to create incomparable experiences for any occasion and for each guest. It is our belief that when any two gather, there is potential for positive change and meaningful conversation. Some of the most powerful conversations occur when people gather to dine. When companies use Fogo de Chão’s amenities and services, there is an opportunity to foster relationships with potential and current business partners, to promote valuable business developments, and to show employee appreciation.
We also support businesses in the community through various ways. We are a proud partner of the North Texas Food Bank and do everything we can to support their efforts in providing hunger relief for the people in our region. As the winter holiday season approaches, Fogo de Chão anticipates an amazing opportunity to partner with Toys for Tots to combine efforts in seeking donations to bring joy to those less fortunate. Our company desires community and positive change, and we are proud to be a vessel for that purpose.
What differentiates Fogo de Chão from others in your industry?
Fogo de Chão is no ordinary steakhouse, and we take great pleasure in saying we offer an extraordinary dining experience. Stepping into our restaurant, guests are immediately greeted by the vibrant aromas from our full-service market table and fire-roasted meats. Our interactive experience allows guests to enjoy a connected and unique opportunity of engaging with our gaucho chefs as they serve a selection from our wide variety of cuts. It does not end there, as the tableside meat service continues until diners are completely satisfied.
What do you enjoy most about doing business in the Dallas Region?
I have always appreciated Dallas for its diversity in the arts, entertainment, and opportunity. The people of Dallas support one another, and their passions run freely. It is this positive attitude that creates a community unlike any other. In a city so large, it is important to find your people, and Fogo has become my family; it truly is a family-like work environment. Doing business in Dallas gives me the chance to meet the people who make this city so great. Fogo de Chão is so lucky and thankful to have the opportunity to make an impact for a positive future.
Why did you decide to become a DRC member?
The Dallas Regional Chamber embodies a network of people with a common goal of making Dallas the best place to live, work, and do business. Our company cannot turn away from an organization that strives to achieve excellence in all they do. The goal in becoming a member was to better connect with other businesses and individuals in the area, so relationships could grow and result in increased visibility for our Uptown Dallas location. Since becoming a member, we have felt nothing but support and encouragement from the DRC. The DRC promotes its members so well and provides every avenue in its power to ensure growth and success within the community.
How has your business changed in the past five years?
The entire company has continued to grow, both in the United States and internationally. With a focus at the Uptown Dallas restaurant, we have seen a great increase in guest engagement with Bar Fogo, large company and guest celebrations, and overall growth in awareness and interest at this location. We hope to continue to grow, to connect with our community, and to always give the best service, food, and dining experience.
