The May Uniform Election provides an opportunity to vote on a range of local positions and measures, including city council and mayoral races, school board seats and local propositions.

The May Uniform Election is approaching, and voting in North Texas looks different by county. Ballots vary, polling locations differ on Election Day and key deadlines arrive quickly.

MAY PRIMARY RUNOFF ELECTION

Primary elections were held in March. If no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, the race moved to a runoff election in May. The winner of the runoff becomes their party’s nominee for the November general election.

If you voted in the March primary, you may only vote in the runoff for the same political party.

If you did not vote in the March primary, you may choose which party’s runoff to participate in—Republican or Democratic—on Election Day.

  • April 27: Last day to register to vote
  • May 15: Last day to apply for mail-in ballot
  • May 18-22: Early voting in person
  • May 26: Election Day and last day to receive mail-in ballot

COUNTY INFORMATION

Dallas County: Vote at any countywide polling place during early voting and on Election Day.

Collin County: Vote at any early voting location; on Election Day, vote at your assigned precinct.
