Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmark Survey
The Dallas Regional Chamber (DRC) works hard each day to make the Dallas Region the best place in the United States for all people to live, work, and do business. As part of our strategic focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), we are committed to helping our members benchmark and improve their DEI efforts.
The DRC launched our very first DEI Benchmark Assessment and Report in 2022, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going and invite members to participate in a short survey about their companies’ historic approach to DEI. Responses to this survey will help us identify areas of opportunity and make meaningful recommendations that improve our region for the near and long term.
To facilitate the assessment, we’ve partnered with Kanarys Inc., a Dallas-based technology company focused solely on providing the tools organizations need to create long-term, systemic change around DEI challenges.

Why should my organization participate?
The short survey builds on the next steps to progress identified on the 2022 Benchmark Report and is a continuation of the DRC’s efforts to understand the Dallas Region’s business community’s efforts in DEI.
Your organization completed the inaugural 2022 assessment, and this is a new opportunity to provide additional data and benchmark progress.

Who should complete the survey?
The short survey is designed for DRC member organizations that took the inaugural assessment in 2022. A member of your DEI or human resources team will be the best designee to answer the questions.

When is the survey open?
The short survey will be available March 7- March 31, 2023.

How long does the survey take to complete?
The short survey should take approximately 15 minutes.

Is there a cost to complete the survey?
No. The DRC is sponsoring the short survey.

Are the responses to the survey confidential?
Yes, all data submitted through the short survey is confidential. Kanarys, the DRC’s independent third party, will never identify individual participant responses to anyone at a particular organization. All data included in the summary report will be aggregated.
All individual responses will be collected by Kanarys and kept strictly confidential. Further, the assessment is encrypted using secure sockets layer (SSL) technology to ensure that only Kanarys can capture the survey results.

What information do I need to complete the short survey?
The short survey asks for information on organizational agility, talent acquisition, supplier diversity, and performance.

How will I complete the short survey?
You will receive a unique link to complete the short survey. The link may be shared with as many contacts in your organization as needed to fill out the sections pertinent to different departments.

If we are a national/global organization, what data should we include in our responses?
Please only submit demographic data and practices for your organization’s operations in the Dallas Region. Data for other geographic areas should not be included.

Some of our work is in progress. Should I include data on that work in my responses?
Yes, you can include that data from in-progress work. The short survey is designed for the business community to participate while still moving the needle in a meaningful way.

What if I need to stop in the middle of completing the survey?
Your progress is saved as you go. You or anyone else working on the short survey can return to the link later to finish and submit it.

What if I don’t want to answer a question?
Organizations may opt out of questions as they see fit.

Can I print or save my answers?
Before submitting the assessment, you will have the option to save your answers to a PDF. Upon submission, you may also save your best practice scores.

What if I accidentally submit the survey before I complete the responses?
Please contact the Kanarys team at customersuccess@kanarys.com. They can send you a link to get back into your short survey and make changes.

What do I do if I lost the link for my organization to access the survey?
Please contact the Kanarys team at customersuccess@kanarys.com. They can resend you a link to access your short survey.

When will we get survey results?
After the survey closes, the DRC and Kanarys will analyze the results and create a DEI Toolkit/Playbook. All participants who complete the assessment will receive access.
