Dallas Regional Chamber Names Scott Goldstein Senior Vice President for Communications, Marketing, and Events

DALLAS (May 30, 2019) – The Dallas Regional Chamber today announced Scott Goldstein as its new Senior Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Events. Mr. Goldstein will begin his new role at the DRC on July 1.

Mr. Goldstein brings to the DRC, and the more than 800 member companies it represents, 13 years of experience in journalism, communications, government, and public policy. He currently serves as Chief of Policy and Communications for Dallas Mayor Michael S. Rawlings, the longest-serving Dallas mayor in nearly 60 years.

“Our team has worked closely with Scott for years, so we know first-hand the depth and breadth of judgment, skills, and knowledge he brings to us,” said DRC President & CEO Dale Petroskey. “Scott has worked hard to develop strong relationships and trust with the many people he’s worked with in business, government, and the media, and he will help us tell our story in new and innovative ways.”

Mr. Goldstein will work closely with his colleagues on the DRC team on all communications and marketing efforts related to the work they do to fulfill DRC’s existing 5-year strategic plan, “Building Tomorrow Together,” including attracting companies, jobs, and talent to the region; improving education and workforce readiness; and advocating for pro-growth public policies at the federal, state, and local levels of government. In addition, Mr. Goldstein will supervise the team that manages the DRC’s more than 200 events each year.

He will continue to build on the national and international communications and marketing efforts that expanded under the former DRC Senior Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Events, Darren Grubb, who joined the DRC in December 2015 and was recently named Vice President of Communications at Steward Health Care, a physician-led health care network that relocated to Dallas from Boston in 2018.

“I’m thrilled to join a team that I’ve come to know and respect through the years,” said Mr. Goldstein. “This is a tremendous opportunity for me to continue to serve the city and region that I chose to make my home and raise a family.”

“Few people in Dallas understand the workings of our city and region better than Scott,” said Mayor Rawlings. “The DRC is fortunate to attract a man of his integrity and talent.”

Mr. Goldstein began his career as a metro reporter for The Dallas Morning News, covering Southern Dallas, criminal justice, and Dallas City Hall. Following eight years at The News, he served as the Digital Content Editor at Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest nonprofit health care system in the state of Texas.
