This week the DRC Public Policy team traveled to Austin to prepare for our 2017 Austin Fly-in coming up on March 7. We still have spots available.
The DRC, as part of the Metro 8 Chambers, submitted written testimony to the House Appropriations Subcommittee requesting $130 million for the Texas Enterprise Fund plus the rollover of $45 million in unexpended balances for the upcoming 2018-2019 biannual budget.
Additionally, the DRC dropped a card in support of SB 22 during Thursday’s Senate Public Education Committee. This bill authorizes a statewide P-TECH (pathways to Technology early college high school) program for students to graduate from high school with associates degrees in targeted areas that address local workforce needs, gathering feedback to strengthen and improve the legislation.
