Councils & Task Forces

Make Your Mark

The Dallas Regional Chamber is invested in making a significant impact on our community.

We involve ourselves in everything from economic development activities to preparing the future workforce and attracting talent to the region. We mobilize our members to promote and drive these initiatives through their participation on councils and task forces.

DRC Councils and Task Forces

Economic Development Council*
Provides overall leadership and coordination for economic development goals.

Southern Dallas Task Force
Engages in specific projects intended to promote the Southern Sector as a business location.

Innovation Task Force
Evaluates the best ways to increase capital availability, in particular for early stage, growth-oriented innovation and technology-oriented companies in the Dallas Region.

Corporate Recruitment Task Force*
Assists in the identification, assessment, and recruitment of corporate prospects. Supports and provides expertise to the Chamber and regional initiatives to attract major corporate operations in the Dallas Region.

Talent Council*
Oversees the Chamber’s talent and education vision and supports the objectives and goals helping develop a vibrant talent pipelines that meets the needs of business.

University CEO Council*
Brings together the chancellors and presidents of regional higher education institutions to discuss issues and continually advise the Chamber on topics relating to higher education.

Talent Pipeline Policy Task Force
Assists in developing the Chamber’s federal, state, and local legislative agenda relating to public and higher education, concentrating on improving the access and quality of education in the region.

Public Policy Council*
Works to engage members in the political process and position the Chamber as the preeminent voice for public policy issues affecting the region’s business climate.

Health System CEO Council*
Provides a forum for the region’s health system CEOs to identify policy issues of common regional concern, with a focus on local economic impact.

Transportation Policy Task Force
Develops the Chamber’s polity positions and strategy in an effort to adequately plan, fund, improve, and sustain the region’s mobility and transportation infrastructure.

Water, Energy, & Environment Policy
Assists in the development of the Chamber’s policy positions and legislative proposals on water resource development, energy initiatives, and environmental conservation.

Member Services Council*
Provides oversight to the Chamber Member Services department., with regard to key value propositions, benefits, and engagement opportunities for members.

Membership Recruitment Task Force
Board committee assisting with identifying and sharing the Chamber’s value proposition with prospective members.

Ambassadors
Select group of business professionals representing member companies who have demonstrated a strong commitment and involvement with the Chamber.

Top Investor Stewards*
Ensures the top investor members are fully engaged and supported in the Chamber’s strategic plan through initiating peer discussions.

Leadership Council*
Oversees Leadership Dallas, Young Professionals, and Executive Women’s Roundtable programming, which aim to provide the region with an ongoing source of diverse leaders at all levels of business expertise.

Leadership Dallas Alumni Board*
Mission is to educate Leadership Dallas Alumni on significant issues facing the greater Dallas community and to encourage alumni to become active, engaged leaders in the local community.

Executive Women’s Roundtable Board*
Guides and plans how EWR will bring together executive level women from a variety of industries and professional disciplines to provide them with business forums that address common workplace issues and interests.

Young Professionals Board*
Plans and executes  the strategic initiatives of the YP program and works with committees to engage young professional members and provide quality events and opportunities.

Board of Directors*
90+ member governing board to oversee the initiatives and activities of the Dallas Regional Chamber. Members are nominated by the membership, selected by the nominating committee nad approved by the membership at the Annual Meeting.

Executive Committee*
Subset of directors appointed to act on behalf of, and within the powers granted to them, the Board of Directors. Consists of the Board Chair, Chair-Elect, Past Chairs, and specific leaders of initiatives within the Chamber’s strategic plan.

Finance & Audit Committee
Provides oversight and directions on the financial performance of the Chamber. Reviews and approves quarterly management reports, audited financial statements, tax filings, investments, nad compliance with the financial policies of the Chamber.

Nominating Committee
Select board members and at-large member representatives who review and select nominations for the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Compensation Committee*
Reviews and recommends compensation for senior management staff of the Dallas Regional Chamber.

Communications Council
Provides support and guidance to increase visibility of the Chamber and the entire region.

*Councils or Committees which require additional investment, program membership or specific requirements to participate.
