In November 2018, Dallas lawyer and former NFL player Colin Allred, a Democrat, prevailed over eleven-term incumbent Republican Pete Sessions in a race that drew national attention and significant outside money to flip this district for the first time. Now, businesswoman and seventh-generation Texan Genevieve Collins is attempting to take back the seat for the Republicans. On Thursday, October 22, the DRC, in partnership with WFAA, brings you a live virtual debate between Congressman Allred and Collins. WFAA Senior Reporter Jason Whitely, host of Inside Texas Politics, will moderate this exclusive event.
Congressman Allred is in his first term serving the 32nd Congressional District of Texas, and sits on three congressional committees: transportation and infrastructure, foreign affairs, and veterans’ affairs. Collins is a local businesswoman and Head of Corporate Strategy at Istation, an education technology firm in northeast Dallas. Read more about the District 32 race or follow WFAA’s election coverage.
