Young Professionals of Greater Dallas

Sponsored by the Greater Dallas Chamber, YP focuses on providing up-and-coming professionals, ages 25-40, with opportunities to enhance their professional development. YP strives to nurture tomorrow's corporate leaders by introducing young executives to the driving forces behind the Dallas business community.

Service Projects

Each year, YP participates in quarterly service projects benefiting the Dallas community. In July 2006, the group held the first ever Young Professionals Youth Field Day for South Dallas kids. Over 130 children attended and participated in more than fifteen activities ranging from bounce houses to face painting to basketball and arts and crafts. Twenty young professionals contributed a total of 60 hours of community service to the endeavor.

Breakfasts

YP features 4-6 breakfast events per year, held at various locations around the Metroplex. The series brings in community leaders to speak and focus on current issues in the region. Past speakers include Rep. Rafael Anchía, former Dallas mayor Ron Kirk, T. Boone Pickens, Mesa Petroleum.

YP After-hours

After-hours events allow members to meet with other young professionals who are looking to build relationships and advance their career. These events focus on a current topic and are held at various venues around the area including the historic Belmont Hotel in Oak Cliff, House of Blues, The Tower Club and Victory Park’s Discovery Center.

CEO Luncheons

This forum, held once a year and open to YP members only, provides young professionals the opportunity to meet with regional CEO’s in a small group setting and discuss current issues, business strategies, and civic responsibility. Each CEO hosts a group of six to eight YP members. Past participants include Robert A. Chereck, Wells Fargo; Maribess Miller, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Britt Berrett, Medical City Dallas Hospital.

New!  Behind Closed Doors Series

This unique opportunity grants YP members exclusive access to well-known venues in the region. YP members will learn about the facilities' history while enjoying VIP access to areas not open to the general public. "Behind Closed Doors" builds on YP's mission to engage up and coming leaders by introducing its members to the inner workings of Dallas' best-known landmarks. Join YP and take a backstage tour of some of your favorite venues or get a sneak-peek of new developments on a hardhat tour.
