The Dallas Regional Chamber would like to encourage our members to apply for a Texas Environmental Excellence Award. The awards recognize outstanding contributions in 11 diverse categories including – for the second consecutive year a Water Conservation Category.
The Texas Environmental Excellence Awards is a program to honor the state's most outstanding waste reduction and pollution prevention projects. These award-winning programs reflect the goals of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) itself: to protect our state's human and natural resources and ensure clean air, clean water, and the safe management of waste.
Under the Waste Reduction Policy Act of 1991, the TCEQ initiated the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards in 1993. Presented every spring, the awards are given in 11 diverse categories across the public and private sectors. By honoring these winners, the TCEQ hopes to encourage other citizens to initiate like-minded projects and reinforce a spirit of environmental stewardship.
