Can the Arts Sell a City? Welcoming the AT&T Performing Arts Center

Beginning on October 12th, the AT&T Performing Arts Center begins its weeklong Grand Opening celebration, the culmination of the 30-year vision of a unified Dallas Arts District. An exciting week of community performances and private events commemorate the end of the campaign to build the Center and the beginning of the Center’s new objectives; to bring the finest selection of arts and entertainment to North Texas audiences.

The Center is comprised of the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre and Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park, Annette Strauss Artist Square and the City Performance Hall. Both Annette Strauss Artist Square and City Performance Hall will open at a later date. The Center is home to five resident companies: The Dallas Opera, Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Texas Ballet Theater and Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, as well as resident fine arts presenter TITAS.

Leadership Dallas Alumni will have an exclusive chance to visit the new Winspear and Wyly venues on Friday, October 30 for a half-day program, Leadership 2.0. Leadership 2.0 will allow alumni to revisit a class day by offering an update on a current issue and providing a format for dialogue with fellow Leadership Dallas graduates as well as key members of the arts community. Written by Scott Potter, LD ’04, CBRE.

This event is open only to LD Alumni – to reserve a seat visit the Dallas Chamber Event Page. Sponsorships for this event are available. If you have questions or need more information, please contact Julie Tanner at (214) 746-6741 or leadership@dallaschamber.org.
