Coalition Urges Congress to Reinstate the Mexican Trucking Pilot Program
It has not taken long for the U.S. agriculture and manufacturing industries to react to tariffs instituted by Mexico earlier this year. According to the National Journal, Mexico placed "some $2.4 billion worth of retaliatory tariffs" on U.S. products after the Obama Administration halted a pilot cross-border trucking program authorized under NAFTA.

Congressman Ralph Hall Addresses Roundtable of Chamber Technology Executives
U.S. Congressman Ralph M. Hall visited the Chamber’s Technology Legislative Task Force in a roundtable breakfast discussion on October 2 at the offices of Baker Botts LLP. Congressman Hall briefed the Task Force on the current technology initiatives in Congress, including funding for research and development, the international space station, funding for small technology businesses, cybersecurity, and nanotechnology.

2009 NAFTA Commission Meeting
Ambassador Ron Kirk, United States Trade Representative; Gerardo Ruiz Mateos, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy; and the Honorable Stockwell Day, Canada’s Minister of International Trade met on October 19, 2009 in Dallas, Texas to celebrate the North American Free Trade Agreement Fifteen years by recognizing its success as well as acknowledging the challenges that this agreement has posted to the three countries.
