Live Healthy North Texas

The Live Healthy North Texas 100 day challenge has officially come to a close and the Dallas Regional Chamber wants to extend its’ congratulations to all of the participants that sprinted across the finish line, and are continuing to put to use the healthy habits they have picked up over the recent months. With over 15,000 participants this year, we again doubled the program from the year before and added numerous new companies to the competition. Even better news is that since the beginning of the year, North Texas residents have lost over 20 metric tons of weight!

Health and wellness are an integral part of our society that in recent times has been waning, but with the recent spotlight shown on healthcare and the passage of reform, it is a hot topic of discussion. With locals putting in around 28 million minutes of activity time this community is demonstrating that it can take wellness into its’ own hands. Through the power of teamwork and friendly competition we are helping each other live healthier lives and fight chronic disease.

Next up are the Live Healthy awards that will be presented to companies on May 21st during the Chamber’s first annual healthcare conference. It will be a great time to highlight the efforts that individual businesses are making to increase employee health and wellness. If you are interested in attending please check the website at www.dallaschamber.org/events and register today.

Even thought the 100 day challenge is over, there are several more activities to be held throughout the year. Also, participants don’t forget that you can still utilize www.livehealthnorthtexas.org at anytime and have access to thousands of recipes, training tips, exercise videos, and more.

Never heard of Live Healthy before? Be sure to drop us a line at anytime and we will happily discuss this wellness program that is great for companies large or small. Whether your business has never had a wellness program or is looking to add on to an existing one, Live Healthy North Texas comes with the Chambers’ recommendation and support.

Looking towards 2011, the strategic planning has already commenced for next year’s big 100-day challenge and it is one you won’t want to miss!
