Education Key to Nation's Future - Do We Believe That?

According to Charles C Thomas’s “Urban Education for the 21st Century”, “The relationship between the quality of urban education and the long-term economic and social well-being of this nation has become clearer with each passing day because the compelling (and perhaps competing) realities of life in 21st century America are stark and incontrovertible. Either we identify and implement strategic approaches in urban schools that will effectively educate these increasing populations of people so that they can be participants in and contributors to an inclusive society, or we neglect to educate them to their full potential and thus experience a real decline in our international competitiveness, standard of living, economic and political stability, and consequently, our exalted place in the ranking order of nations.”

Education reform continues to be the cry of many in the community, but the method of that reform is as varied as each individual asked. The best source may be those closest to the schools themselves- area superintendents.

Join us on May 20 from 12-1:30 PM at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (400 N. Olive, Dallas) as area superintendents update the business community on exactly what is going on within their schools. Dr. Linda Henrie from Mesquite ISD and Dr. Dawson Orr, the new superintendent of Highland Park ISD will share how the business community can play a role in making a positive impact on area schools.
