Mary BurlesonMary Frances Burleson is President of Ebby Halliday, REALTORS, whichserves the Dallas/ Fort Worth metropolitan area and North Texas with over 1200 sales associates and 100 employees in 27 offices.

Mrs. Burleson started her career with the firm over 40 years ago as Ebby’s secretary. She opened the fourth office for Ebby Halliday, REALTORS in Richardson and served as Regional Manager of four additional offices. In 1979 she became Executive Vice President and General Sales Manager.
On February 11, l989, she was named President.

GREATER DALLAS ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
In 1989, Mrs. Burleson was named REALTOR of the Year by the Greater Dallas Association of REALTORS; served as secretary treasurer, VicePresident and in 1992 as president of that organization. She is currently a member of the government affairs committee.

TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
In 2004, she was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as a Broker Member on the Texas Real Estate Commission. Mrs. Burleson served as the Chairman of the Board of the Texas Association of REALTORS in 2002 and is a member of the legislative and strategic planning committees and the Board of Directors. She was chosen as the REALTOR of the Year for 1999.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
On a national level, Mrs. Burleson has been a member of the NAR Board of Directors since 1991. She chaired the Board Leadership Forum in 1997. In 2001, she was chairman of economics and issues trends residential forum and currently is a member of the Research and Risk Management Committees. She has been a member of the Executive Committee and is a life member of RPAC.

Mrs. Burleson served on the Real Estate Brokerage Managers Council’s Board of Governors in 1985-1990 and 1992-1994, was a member of the Management Committee in 1995-96, a member of Real Estate Business (magazine) Committee from 1985-1995.

Mrs. Burleson holds a CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage) Manager designation from the REALTORS National Marketing Institute.

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS - OTHER ACTIVITIES
Mrs. Burleson has spoken to organizations across the nation – and around the world. She spoke to a two-day seminar of the Estate Agency members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in York England, and returned to make another speech in Birmingham, England to the Chartered Surveyors on management. She has led Round Tables and given speeches at six NAR conventions.

Locally, Mrs. Burleson has led seminars for the Real Estate Department in the Dallas County Community College District and speaks to many groups in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex including regional rallies, HAB area meetings, the Builder Realty Council and MLS areas meetings about real estate and management. She has spoken at the National RELO meetings.

She is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Baptist Foundation of Texas, 2003 Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She is a member of the Southern Methodist University Planned Giving Council and was a member of the Fannie Mae National Advisory Council in 1999-2000.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Mrs. Burleson has been married to Rufus C. Burleson for 40+ years. The two have exhibited show dogs – Boxers – since 1964. They have completed championships for 45 dogs. They have won national specialties at four American Boxer Club specialty shows. Their dogs have won “Best” in shows – Groups and Honors throughout the United States. Mrs. Burleson has judged Sweepstakes for the Boxer Club of Canada, the Boxer Club of Mexico, the American Boxer Club, and many specialty clubs throughout the United States. They received the Life Time Achievement award from the American Boxer Club in Wisconsin in 2003. They currently have 13 boxers—5 are Champions and another will be shortly!
