Chamber Active In Washington DC

The Dallas Regional Chamber is actively engaging our North Texas delegation in Washington DC. President Jim Oberwetter’s pro-active efforts in Washington DC are Active in DCdirected toward building upon a positive climate for job and investment growth in the North Texas region. In early April, President Jim Oberwetter and Vice President of Government Relations, Jay Barksdale met with United States Senator’s Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn as well as the North Texas Congressional Delegation

The Dallas Regional Chamber will continue to monitor issues on the federal level and will advocate on those issues that affect business in North Texas. Recently the Chamber has been very vocal about the Employee Free Choice Act and the negative impact that legislation would have on business. The Chamber also continues to monitor the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the programs being implemented in Texas and the North Texas area as a result of this legislation.
