Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Will Address Members of the Dallas Regional Chamber on April 7, 2010

The Dallas Regional Chamber will host Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke Wednesday April 7, 2010 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (400 N. Olive Street, Dallas, TX 75201) in the Dallas Ballroom from noon – 1:30 p.m. This will be Bernanke’s first public appearance in the Dallas region since October 2007.

“Remarks by Chairman Bernanke are closely followed around the globe. At a time when the U.S. and world economies are central points of discussion in the business and financial communities every day, his appearance before the Dallas Regional Chamber is especially meaningful. It highlights the importance of this region, now the 14th largest regional economy in the world,” said James Oberwetter, President, Dallas Regional Chamber.

Ben S. Bernanke began a second term as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on February 1, 2010. Dr. Bernanke also serves as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System's principal monetary policymaking body. He originally took office as Chairman on February 1, 2006, when he also began a 14-year term as a member of the Board. His second term as Chairman ends January 31, 2014, and his term as a Board member ends January 31, 2020. Before his appointment as Chairman, Dr. Bernanke was Chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers, from June 2005 to January 2006.
