Texas Instruments and Chamber Celebrate Milestones in 2010

The North Texas region has long been home to corporations, universities and other organizations that develop the world’s leading technologies to serve global business markets.

As one of those Dallas-based global technology companies, Texas Instruments (TI) brings jobs and dollars back to the region, with about 90 percent of its revenue coming from customers overseas. Its exports generate growth for the company and also for the region, state and United States as a whole, as illustrated by the recent opening of TI’s new fabrication plant in Richardson, Texas.

Throughout its 80-year history, the company’s employees and its customers have created and leveraged technology in ways that solve problems, create new markets and opportunities, and help to improve the quality of life worldwide. TI, a $10.4 billion Fortune 500 company, maintains operations in more than 30 countries on four continents. Drawing on many of the brightest minds from around the globe, TI serves as a catalyst for pioneering technologies that will drive growth opportunities and create new markets for tomorrow.

Rich Templeton, Chairman, President and CEO of Texas Instruments, will share his perspective on the opportunities and challenges the future holds for TI and DFW during the Dallas Regional Chamber’s 10th Annual State of Technology Luncheon and Innovation Showcase. To register,

This fast-growing, annual event will celebrate perhaps the region’s most well known “home-grown” technology company and highlight the area’s reputation for technological growth and innovation.

“It’s a time for us to check the pulse of DFW’s technology community and hear from Mr. Templeton about where some the region’s growth opportunities lie,” said Shannon Clark, Managing Director of Technology Business Development.

In addition to hearing Templeton’s thoughts at the luncheon, attendees can check out nearly 50 companies’ cutting-edge products and services on display in the exhibit hall.

The event is Tuesday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The luncheon begins at noon. Tickets are $75 for Chamber members and $125 for general admission. Luncheon tables and exhibit spaces are available.
