Live Healthy North Texas Awards

During the Chamber’s health care conference in May, the business community and healthcare industry took time to recognize the special accomplishments of several organizations that excelled during the 2010 Live Healthy North Texas challenge.

Based on a special formula to win, companies competed on percentage of employee participation, percentage weight loss, total activity minutes accumulated, depth of program, organizational support, and more. From this criteria emerged six participants that excelled at the program and managed to beat out other competitors within their categories.

A brilliant glass sculpture and the prestige of being a Live Healthy North Texas 100 day challenge winner were bestowed by Troy Vincent, Executive Director of Live Healthy America, and John DeLorimier of Concentra, who was the top sponsor for this year’s challenge.

If you have not heard, the Live Healthy North Texas 100 Day Challenge is a team based, weight loss and physical activity program that assists individuals and their teammates in making positive changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle. By competing in the challenge, participants begin to form healthy habits through physical activity and improved nutrition. In this way Dallas-Fort Worth and the North Texas Region will become forerunners in the vital race to create a healthier America. For more information, please visit www.livehealthynorthtexas.org.

Congratulations again to all of the 2010 winners for a job well done, and thank you to all of the North Texas companies that competed in the program this year. We look forward to the next 100 day challenge and wish you the best of luck as you continue pursuing healthy lifestyles within your companies and in the community.
