2010 has been a year of unprecedented efforts by our Young Professionals organization – to communicate to our members in ways that satisfy our generation’s desire to have multiple sources of information at our fingertips, giving us choices about how, when, and where we receive our information. To that end, we give you many new choices: a blog, a newsletter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tweets, and much more.
As the year continues, you will see blog posts and newsletter contributions from both our board members and members-at-large, all sharing messages they find relative, timely, and important. I hope each of you will have an experience that inspires you to take a stab at contributing something here for your fellow YP members to read and enjoy, and from which to learn.
In my own effort at being timely and relevant, it is my pleasure to introduce Miguel Simoes. Miguel is a new 2010 YP member who won our logo redesign contest, entering more than a dozen different ideas and designs. He has a passion for YP and a seemingly unending creative side! I encourage you to take a moment to learn more about him here.
If you’re not yet a member of YP, I know that as you read about all that YP has to offer, and have a chance to experience it vicariously through the eyes and minds of our members, you will want to become part of this incredible organization.
For those of you who already count yourselves among our members, please consider becoming a part of one of our many active committees – Volunteer, Programs, Connecting, Policy, Growth, or Communications. The best way to maximize the investment you’ve made in yourself by joining YP is to get as involved as you can.
In parting, I encourage you to take a moment to bookmark this page. You won’t want to miss any of the information, ideas, and just plain good times that you’ll hear about in the weeks, months, and years to come. I look forward to seeing and meeting all of you at one of our many YP events!
In service,
Amy Johnson
2010 YP Board Chair
