The Dallas Regional Chamber is proud to announce the new and improved website, dallaschamber.org. The recent launch offers a more informative, user friendly and resourceful experience for all visitors. New features include a media gallery which contains photos from chamber events and programs as well as an abundant amount of research, statistical and demographic information about our area. We are continuing to create and implement ways in which the website can benefit all visitors – from local members of our business community to people around the globe who want to learn more about the DFW region.

On June 4th a crowd of approximately 1,000 gathered to celebrate 100 years of the Dallas Regional Chamber. A panel of key regional business leaders informed and entertained attendees. Also of note was the unveiling of a 100th Anniversary video produced for the Dallas Regional Chamber by HKS and Blue Logic.

The nation is buzzing with a potential government-run Plan for Healthcare Reform on the horizon. Congress is currently discussing whether to create a Public Health Plan to compete with private insurance companies which advocates say would lower the cost and raise the quality of care.

On May 18, the Chamber's International Business Council (IBC) hosted a presentation and interactive networking breakfast with the Tianjin, China Economic Development Area (TEDA) delegation. As DFW's number one trading partner with trade totaling more than $17 billion in 2007, China plays an important role in DFW's economy.

When Texas voters approved a ballot measure to create the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) in 2007, they took a major step forward in making Texas a hub for cancer research activity. This gave life science companies $3 billion incentives to come to Texas.

This year’s Live Healthy Dallas program concluded on April 23, 2009 and was accomplished with great success. Live Healthy Dallas will be transforming to Live Healthy North Texas in 2010. Next year’s program will target not only the Dallas region, but will work to positively involve and impact the greater North Texas region.
