Congratulations to the Leadership Dallas Class of 2009 Graduates!

Each year, since our inaugural class in 1976, the Dallas Regional Chamber celebrates the graduation of 55 leaders making a difference in our community. This year we were proud to graduate the 33rd class of Leadership Dallas and would like to thank you for your contributions and support of the class of 2009.

The following list of individuals successfully completed a rigorous 10 month leadership development program that began last September with an overnight retreat. Each month, there was a focus on one specific issue around the Dallas region, such as Education, Healthcare, etc. One Friday out of each month, these individuals would attend “class” for an in-depth look at each of these topics.

Each Leadership Dallas class is tasked with completing a project over the course of their 10 months. This year the focus was on Jeffries Street Learning Center in South Dallas. After months of hard work and hundreds of hours of dedication, the 2009 Leadership Dallas Class completed its project focusing on Jeffries Street Learning Center in South Dallas. Even in a challenging economy, the class raised $65,000 in cash and in-kind contributions. Every member of the class contributed to the fundraising effort. The Jeffries Street Learning Center students will be forever impacted by the 2009 Leadership Dallas Class. The children were shown that they are important and valuable. In addition to the aesthetic changes made to the facility, the Class was able to present Jeffries Street Learning Center a check for $20,000.
