Leadership Dallas has honored one of its inaugural class graduates—Linda Custard—with its annual Distinguished Alumni award.
The Distinguished Alumni award is presented to a Leadership Dallas alumnus who has made a positive difference in the Dallas area, based on the merit and quality of their community service. The award emphasizes the importance of active involvement in the Dallas region and serves to encourage and provide a role model for others.
The 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient was presented to Linda Custard, General Partner of Custard/Pitts Land and Cattle Company, L.P., a limited partnership. As a Trustee of SMU, the Hockaday, St. Mark’s & Lamplighter schools, Mrs. Custard has made a significant impact throughout the community and educational world. Her many accolades include: being named one of the 100 women who have helped shape the history of Dallas by the YWCA; recipient of the TACA/Neiman Marcus Silver Cup Award for her outstanding contributions to the arts; recipient of the Dallas Historical Society Award for Excellence in Arts Leadership; selected Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Executives; and selected a Distinguished Alumna of the SMU Cox School of Business.
Mrs. Custard was presented the award at this year’s Leadership Dallas Annual Leadership Luncheon focusing on the “Principles of Health Care Reform.” This luncheon event allows the Chamber to highlight 33 successful years of Leadership Dallas, our flagship development program. Luncheon speakers included Dr. Ron Anderson, President & CEO of Parkland Health & Hospital System and Walter Jones, Senior Vice President for Facilities Planning & Development of Parkland Health & Hospital System.
The Dallas Regional Chamber would like to congratulate Mrs. Custard on her achievements and thank her for extraordinary service to the Dallas region. For more information about the Chamber’s leadership development, contact Cristina De Los Santos at cdelossantos@dallaschamber.org.
