Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center houses some of the most gifted minds that Dallas ISD has to offer. The Mission of Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center is based on the belief that teachers foster an environment that produces outstanding citizens in a global society by utilizing a rigorous and integrated curriculum. The school has been named to Newsweek’s “America’s Best High Schools” list and received a visit from President Bush in 2006.
As part of the Legacy Dallas programs, Leadership Dallas Alumni have received an inside look at education in our community through a series of meetings with Jack Lowe and other education experts. Participants of the program were invited by Jack to meet with a principal at an area school. Jovan Wells, Principal of the Science and Engineering School of Townview met with Legacy Dallas class members along with five students from the school. The group toured the school and discussed the rigorous curriculum that students take to prepare for college.
The school graduates 100% of its students and is recognized as ‘Exemplary’ by the Texas Education Agency.
“SEM(Science & Engineering Magnet) is an amazing place with extraordinary students who are motivated to accomplish extraordinary goals. The school is a credit to DISD and to Dallas.” Jim Griffin, Jackson Walker L.L.P. & Legacy Dallas facilitator.
