The Dallas Regional Chamber hosted its second in a series of six Legislative Luncheons on Tuesday, July 13, at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas.
Special guest speakers at the luncheon were State Senator Bob Deuell (R-Greenville), Chairman Jim Pitts (R-Waxahachie), Representative Jerry Madden (R-Richardson), and Representative Marc Veasey (D- Ft. Worth).
Deuell represents Senate District 2, Chairman Pitts represents House District 10, Representative Madden District 67, and Representative Veasey District 95.
All speakers collectively identified the anticipated $18 billion dollar budget shortfall, redistricting, education and healthcare as critical issues the 82nd Texas Legislature will confront in 2011.
The luncheon, moderated by Dallas Regional Chamber Board of Directors Chairman David Corrigan, was sponsored by the Southwestern Medical District which served as the event’s Presenting Sponsor. Special guest speakers were introduced by Mr. David Biegler, who represented the Presenting Sponsor and serves as Chairman of the Southwestern Medical District. Silver Sponsors for the event were Luminant and TXU Energy.
Future Legislative Luncheons will be held on September 14, October 12, November 16, and December 7.
