John Ellis Price is Professor of Accounting as well as Vice Chancellor and President Designate
of the University of North Texas (UNT) Dallas Campus. The UNT Dallas Campus is a branch
campus of the University of North Texas in Denton and was created to increase the number of citizens in Dallas and the North Texas region who hold bachelor and master’s degrees; and to implement programs and partnerships that will help to increase the high school graduation and college-going rates. The UNT Dallas Campus is the prototype for the University of North Texas at Dallas. As Vice Chancellor, Dr. Price is the chief executive officer of the UNT Dallas Campus and also serves as the University of North Texas System’s chief spokesperson in Dallas for the creation of the University of North Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Price has previously served as KPMG Professor of Taxation and Chair of the Department of Accounting at the University of North Texas, Professor and Dean of the School of Business at Jackson State University, Assistant Professor of Accounting at The University of Southern Mississippi, and as an Internal Revenue Agent with the Internal Revenue Service. Professor Price has also served two terms as a member of the Commissioner’s Advisory Group for the Internal Revenue Service.

Professor Price received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees
with a major in Accounting from The University of Southern Mississippi and his Ph.D. in
Accounting in 1981 from the University of North Texas. Dr. Price is also a certified public
accountant.
