Technology Executives Gather to Discuss Social Media

While social media outlets provide companies with a good promotional platform, from a corporate IT perspective, the implementation and execution can be very different.

A panel of experts shared their insights on how the social media revolution is impacting IT executives during the Dallas Regional Chamber's March 30 CIO Symposium brought to you by Capstone, The IT Consulting and Executive Search Company.

The panel consisted of Emily Voigt, Director of Public Relations for Moroch Partners, and Leland Harden, author of the book Digital Engagement. It was moderated by Michael Savoie, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Information Technology and Management at The University of Texas at Dallas.

The panel discussed several topics, including:

  • Examples of companies using social media in unique ways
  • What is next for social media and Web 3.0
  • Security concerns to be aware of when your company uses social media outlets
  • How communications and IT departments can work together to implement

These events are complimentary, invitation-only programs open to CIOs, CTOs and IT executives only. To request an invitation for a future event, contact Kathryn McNeill at (214) 712-1951. For more information on the CIO Symposium, visit www.DallasTBC.org.
