| Railways
All
of the nation's largest rail lines serve DFW and coordinate with motor
and truck
carriers at four intermodal freight centers. (North Central
Texas Council of Governments)
Dallas is a junction point on hundreds of rail through routes. While most
of the nation's
railroads are regional in nature, the establishment of joint rates and
routes by the carriers
provides the continued movement of freight when more than one carrier
is required to transport
a shipment. Because of these agreements, the Dallas shippers is assured
of delivery to any
point in the U.S.
