Young Professionals Programs

Educational Breakfast Series
YP features a quarterly breakfast series to keep members up to date on city issues and topics relevant to an emerging leader.  The breakfasts bring in community leaders to speak on key issues the region. Past speakers include State Representative Rafael Anchía, T. Boone Pickens of Mesa Petroleum, and Dr. Gerald Turner, President of SMU. 


CEO Lunches
This forum, held twice a year and open to YP members only, provides young professionals the opportunity to meet with regional CEO’s in a small group setting and discuss current issues, business strategies, and civic responsibility.  Each CEO hosts a group of six to eight YP members.  Past participants include Jim Keyes, Blockbuster; Janet Kafka, Honorary Consul of Spain and Britt Berrett, Medical City Dallas Hospital.  Pictured at right: YP Members meet with Brian Purdy Market Manager, CBS Radio (Dallas, Austin & Houston)


After-hours
After-hours events allow members to meet with other young professionals who are looking to build relationships and advance their career. These events focus on current topics and are held at various venues around the area including Hotel Palomar, The Tower Club and Victory Park’s Discovery Center.   


Services Projects
Each year, YP participates in quarterly service projects benefiting the Dallas community.  YP strives to engage members in meaningful volunteer opportunities that give back to the Dallas region.  Projects include working with Dallas ISD schools, park clean-ups, and a Habitat build, among others. 

Behind Closed Doors Series
This series takes YP members behind the scenes of Dallas’ well known venues and offers an exclusive look at how these facilities operate, provide information on the history of each venue, and present the opportunity for attendees to view special areas not open to the public. 

YP/Leadership Dallas Alumni Mentoring Program
This program pairs highly motivated members of Leadership Dallas Alumni and the Young Professionals in a mentoring relationship to focus on career pathing, work/life balance, and current issues. Each Leadership Dallas Alumni is matched with one or two YP members and meet four to six times per year. 


YP Government Leaders Breakfast Series
Modeled after the highly successful CEO Series, the Government Leaders series offers YP member the opportunity to meet with city and elected officials in a small group setting and learn about current issues, public policy and what it takes to run for office. 


YP Intramurals
Get to know other young professionals through a bit of friendly competition!  YP participates in a number of sports leagues hosting teams in flag football, soccer, basketball, bowling, volleyball, softball and others!  All teams with the exception of basketball are co-ed.  All levels of play are welcome!
