Immigration ReformThe Dallas Regional Chamber supports national immigration reform that gives employers access to a legal workforce to meet legitimate business needs in all sectors of the economy taking into consideration national security concerns together with fair and legal treatment of all parties involved. Given businesses need to have nationally consistent, comprehensive immigration standards, the Chamber encourages the Texas state legislators to defer from policymaking at the state level and promote continued debate and national policy development at the federal level. Foreign Investment ClimateThe Dallas Regional Chamber supports legislation that encourages international trade and investment into the United States, while upholding previously negotiated treaties and trade agreements. We urge Congress not to pass any legislation (including tax legislation) that would discourage quality foreign investment projects or place unfair burdens on U.S. multinational corporations doing business globally. Any proposals to enact such tax legislation should be carefully considered by Congress on its own merits. Additionally, the Dallas Regional Chamber supports keeping our country’s businesses open to sources of foreign investment in a way that neither compromises national security nor introduces overly complicated or lengthy compliance procedures that could frustrate the ability of American companies and workers to enjoy the benefits of foreign investment. |
