Business Information and Research

Business Information and Research (BIR) works to ensure that Chamber leaders, the larger business community and other key decision makers have ready access to “state-of-the-art” information resources by collecting business and economic data, developing focused economic analysis, and offering custom research services and products.

The Chamber’s economic development program, Dallas Regional Momentum, works directly with companies, location consultants and local and state allies to market the region and attract new and expanding corporations. Healthcare

The healthcare industry is a key economic driver for the DFW region. The Chamber works to examine, influence and create awareness of public policies affecting employee healthcare to ensure the region remains competitive. The Chamber also manages the healthcare cluster with the goal of bringing education and industry efforts together to address the workforce needs of the healthcare industry in the region.

Higher Education

The Chamber’s Higher Education Initiative supports the region with sound legislation through communication with area university presidents and chancellors, who provide guidance on policy positions and aid in highlighting issues of concern.

International Business

The Council seeks to unite and engage the international business community in North Texas and promote the region’s global growth. This is achieved through public policy advocacy that encourages global competitiveness; economic development by maintaining a pipeline of foreign companies considering investment opportunities in the U.S. and fostering their expansion decisions; supporting North Texas businesses seeking to expand their global presence through educational programming, networking events and other services.

Public Policy

The Chamber’s Government Relations department initiates opportunities for business leaders to interact with elected officials at all levels of government in North Texas. The department also works to develop and influence public policy related to the following issues:

Technology Business initiatives

The Chamber’s technology initiatives promote the region as a technology center, through discussions of cutting-edge technology and life science industry issues, supporting entrepreneurial community growth, advocating on critical high-tech and bio-tech policy, and providing high-level networking and briefing opportunities for regional executives.

Workforce Initiatives

The Chamber’s workforce initiative is focused on facilitating local economic development by providing forums and educational opportunities related to workforce development issues; serving as a liaison between business, education and government to address and anticipate workforce challenges; proactively partnering with the Chamber Education and Leadership Development committees to synergistically address short- and long-term solutions to workforce requirements; and to working with other businesses and community organizations to synergistically address short- and long-term goals.
