Fred Guerra, who joined the Chamber in March of 2010, serves as Director of Public Policy and Education for the Dallas Regional Chamber. Fred provides staff support for the Chamber’s Water Policy Committee, Public Policy Council, University CEO Council and Education Policy Committee.

Guerra has extensive communications and government relations leadership experience in the public and private sector having previously served as Press Secretary for Texas House Speaker Joe Straus, Manager of Communications for the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) in Austin, Director of Government Relations for Cox Communications (Arkansas), Executive Director of Government Relations for AT&T (Dallas), Regional Vice President of Government Relations for SBC Telecom (Massachusetts) and Director of Government Relations for Allied Waste (San Antonio).

Guerra, a former President of the Texas Municipal League (TML), served on the San Marcos City Council for fifteen years.

Guerra holds a bachelors and masters degree in education from Texas State University in San Marcos and is married to Dr. Lolly Guerra, Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the San Marcos CISD. Fred and Lolly have one daughter, Andrea Guerra Garcia and are proud grandparents of Jakson David Guerra-Garcia.
