A Message from Our Chair...
Welcome to the Dallas Regional Chamber’s International Business Council. Dallas/Fort Worth is a progressive and innovative city with a wealth of resources that make it an ideal business climate. The region’s attractive quality of life, expanding economy, low cost of living, young and skilled labor force, favorable business climate, and absence of state income taxes all contribute to the thriving DFW location.
DFW is known as the international “Gateway to the Americas” due to its central location and world-class transportation infrastructure. With the U.S.’s third busiest airport, DFW International Airport, and the world’s first 100 percent industrial airport, Fort Worth Alliance Airport, the region has excelled in passenger air travel and air cargo operations.
DFW ranks among the top five U.S. metropolitan areas for business expansions, relocations and employment growth. This unprecedented employment growth has contributed to DFW’s highly educated workforce of more than three million people.
Twenty-four Fortune 500 companies have founded their headquarters in DFW to take advantage of our region’s business climate and abundance of educated workers. These companies and DFW’s many international business leaders have made it a strong climate for international trade. In 2007 the value of goods and services exchanged with partners in over 210 countries around the world reached 58.2 billion dollars.
The International Business Council seeks to unite and engage these influential international businesses to promote the region’s economic growth. We hope you join us in these efforts to continuously grow the DFW region as a global economic environment.
