Certificate of Origin Guidelines

  1. Company must be a Dallas Regional Chamber Member. For membership information please click here.

  2. All products included on the invoice to be certified must be manufactured in the United States.

  3. Before agreeing to provide a Certificate of Origin, Chamber must do background research. This process may take up to 10 days.

  4. The document(s) must be signed by a designated company employee and notarized prior to receiving Certification from the Chamber. Chamber does have a Notary Public on staff. If needed, company must coordinate with the Notary Public’s schedule.

  5. Please do not visit the Chamber without prior appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 214-712-1930. Please give 24 hours notice.

  6. Chamber will charge $30 as an introductory fee for each certification, which includes (1) stamp and (1) seal. Afterwards, the cost will be $20 per Certification.

Please note when requesting a Certificate of Origin:

  • The Chamber only examines the documents that are provided; we are not attesting to the validity of the claim that the goods are made in the United States.

  • The Chamber cannot be held liable for your goods. The Chamber will not be held liable if the U.S. company does not present all of the appropriate documentation needed for international importation or exportation, resulting in the company’s shipment held at foreign customs.

  • All companies utilizing a Certificate of Origin are subject to any applicable penalties in the event that they have not processed their documentation properly or are sending goods that are not made in the U.S.

  • Furthermore, the Chamber does not take responsibility for ensuring that these goods are not controlled by the U.S. government for any reason with regard to exporting. For more information on export controls, go to www.bis.doc.gov and select “Export Control Basics.”

The Chamber does not provide the following:

  1. NAFTA Certificate of Origin
    This is a self-certification.
    For details on filling out the form and compliance, please visit Export.gov.
    For training, please visit the International Trade Center - SBDC.

  2. Legalization
    If you are company located in North Texas, please contact Greg Thompson, Senior International Trade Specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce at 214-712-1932. If you are not located in North Texas, contact the U.S. Department of State.

  3. Authentication
