The chamber’s signature international event featured an awards ceremony celebrating international businesses of the North Texas community.
The International Business Achievement Awards honored Fluor Corporation as the Large Corporate category winner; The Chiapas Project as the Individual category winner; and Design Duncan Miller Ullman as the small to mid-sized company winner, which was named at the event.
Fluor Corporation’s award was accepted by CEO and Chairman, Alan Boeckmann. The Chiapas Project’s award was accepted by its founder, Lucy Billingsley, an area real estate developer. Turner Duncan, Chairman of design firm Design Duncan Miller Ullmann, accepted the Small to Mid-Size Company award.
Following the award ceremony was a fireside chat with the recipients moderated by David Johnson of KRLD-CBS. Discussion topics included the future of the globalization trend, currency fluctuation and business ethics.

Small to Mid-Size Business Award Selection Process
The Small to Mid-Size Business Award, to be presented at the 14th Annual International Business Achievement Award (IBAA) Luncheon and Expo, recognizes a small to mid-size business whose global successes and outstanding civic involvement have raised the international profile of the Dallas metroplex and contributed to the economic growth of the North Texas region.
Applications for the Small to Mid-Size Business Award are submitted and reviewed by an executive panel of judges. The panel will select five finalists and announce the Award Winner at the annual International Business Achievement Awards Luncheon and Expo.
