2008 Annual Meeting
The Greater Dallas Chamber's 2008 Annual Meeting was held January 18 and featured remarks by Ralph W. Babb, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Comerica Bank, this year's presenting sponsor.
This year's theme wass "Leadership...Above and Beyond." The Annual Meeting is one of the largest events hosted by the Chamber and a sell-out every year.
During the meeting, members and leaders reflected on issues that shaped the year, highlighted Chamber accomplishments and discussed upcoming priorities. The agenda included remarks by 2007 Chairman Ron Gafford and 2008 Chairman Robert Chereck, after the gavel of leadership was passed.
2007 Chairman Ron Gafford also presented the Chairman's Award in recognition of superlative service by a Chamber volunteer. The award is given at the discretion of the Chairman of the Board and recognizes an individual who has guided the organization in setting priorities and seeking future opportunities for the region.
Other special guests included city council members, state legislators, members of Congress, school board trustees, municipal officials, Chamber board members, advisory council members and Chairman's Circle patrons.
