The Dallas Regional Chamber is pleased to announce the Leadership Dallas Class of 2009. Leadership Dallas, which began in 1975, is a leadership development program aimed at increasing the leadership pool for community activities in the Dallas area. Each year, approximately 55 people are selected to participate in the program, which begins in September and ends in June the following year.
During the 10-month program, participants receive in-depth education on critical issues in the community including criminal justice, education, government and politics, as well as a history of the area, health care, and human services. By the end of the program, participants have an increased awareness of the issues within the community and an expanded network of contacts. Leadership Dallas intends to build the confidence of its participants motivating them to strive for positive changes in Dallas and its surrounding communities.
In 31 years, Leadership Dallas has graduated more than 1,500 men and women who continue to provide leadership in the region. These men and women go on to serve on boards, take public office and live and work in the region.
