The Dallas Regional Chamber is committed to providing the region with the support needed to not only equip students with a solid academic foundation but also prepare them for a leading innovative workforce. That’s why the Chamber’s is working to create partnerships between education and business representatives.
The Principal For A Day program invites committed civic leaders to shadow principals to gain a better understanding of the rewards and demands of educational leadership.
Scheduled for October 16th, the Principal For A Day program helps to: increase awareness and understanding among individuals in the private sector concerning the strengths and challenges of schools in the Dallas Independent School District (ISD), demonstrate the private sector’s commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students, and form ongoing partnerships between individuals and business and the Dallas ISD.
The Principal For A Day program is presented by Capital One Bank, in partnership with the Dallas Regional Chamber, Dallas ISD and Merrill Lynch.
The Principal Executive Partnership program , on the other hand, provides a peer-to-peer relationship for principals and business executives to share leadership, management, financial and other areas of expertise. One premise behind this group is that the quality of today’s education will affect the quality of tomorrow’s workforce. A second is that business professionals and school principals can learn from each other by exchanging thoughts, ideas and experiences on a regular basis.
We are currently recruiting business partners for this program. Anyone interested is invited to our next meeting, October 14 from 2-3:30 PM. For more information on this program, please contact, Lindsay Moffett at lmoffett@dallasisd.org.
