2008 Perryman Economic Outlok Conference and 4th Quarter Membership Meeting Scheduled for November 6, 2008

Each November, the Chamber supports the Perryman Economic Outlook Conference. This year, the Perryman Economic Outlook Conference, featuring Dr. Ray Perryman, will be held Thursday, November 6, 2008 at The City Club from 8:00 – 9:30 AM.

Dallas Regional Chamber Board Member Kent Eastman stated that "Although our Dallas area economy is fairing quite well relative to the rest of the nation, this is a period of unprecedented challenge in the national and global financial markets. Recognizing these current challenges we look forward to hearing Dr. Perryman’s perspective for the future of this region.”

Dr. Perryman will review some of the problems the national and state economies have recently faced and will provide insights into what the future holds. The focus will be his short-term outlook for the five-year period from 2008 to 2013. Included in this information will be his projections on key economic issues along with discussions on how various industrial sectors are likely to fare over the next several years. In his unique conversational style, Dr. Perryman will seek to make sense of what’s happened in recent weeks and what he expects for the future.

Dr. Perryman is founder and president of The Perryman Group (TPG), an economic and financial analysis firm headquartered in Waco, Texas. He is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential and innovative economists.

His complex modeling systems form a basis for corporate and governmental planning around the globe. He has also authored several books, including Survive & Conquer, an account of the Texas economy during the turbulent 1980s, and The Measurement of Monetary Policy, a treatise on Federal Reserve activity.
