The Dallas Regional Chamber and Live Healthy America will team up again in 2009 to offer Live Healthy Dallas to area employer teams. The pilot program began in 2008 with 23 companies participating, including The Beck Group, Frost Bank, Baylor Health Care System and Genesis Physicians Group, among others. The 100-Day Challenge resulted in local employers losing more than 8,600 lbs and tracking more than 330,000 miles.
What is Live Healthy Dallas?
Live Healthy Dallas (LHD) is a team-based weight loss and physical activity program that will help you and your teammates (employees) make positive changes that lead to a healthier lifestyle- through increased physical activity and improved nutrition. Live Healthy Dallas is a part of the national program, Live Healthy America (LHA). The Live Healthy Dallas program is cost-effective, easy to implement and, most importantly, an effective motivator.
The goal of LHD is to create a specific health and wellness program to enable Dallas employers the opportunity to provide better health opportunities for employees at the worksite, through community and work sponsored efforts.
With an online tool (www.livehealthydallas.org), Live Healthy Dallas makes it easy for friends, family members and coworkers to form teams, encourage one another, track weight loss and minutes of activity. Participants have unlimited access to research-proven nutritional, workout and motivational information provided by various strategic partners, including Fitness Magazine, via the www.livehealthydallas.org website and weekly emails. The Live Healthy Dallas program can be incorporated into an existing wellness program or can serve as way to plant the seed of health for your employees.
Live Healthy Dallas will kick off on January 14, 2009. If you are interested in more information, visit www.dallaschamber.org/healthcare and click on www.livehealthydallas.org or call 214 746 6623. Registration will open in November. |
