Today, one of the most crucial issues facing employers is how to get, keep and engage the best people. But this is more challenging today than ever. New concerns including increased competition, pressures to keeps costs down, generational differences and an increased need for work-life balance make workplace flexibility a top priority in today’s changing work environment.
Workplace Flexibility is more than just a checklist of programs and policies, it is a partnership between employers and employees that defines how, when and where work gets done and how careers are organized in ways that work for both. It’s a critical ingredient in an effective workplace, where work “works” for both employers and employees.
The Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility celebrates employers that have made employee satisfaction a priority and improved the quaility of their work environment.
For the fifth year in a row, the Chamber is partnering with the Families and Work Institute, US Chamber, and Twiga Foundation to promote the benefits of workplace flexibility and recognize local employers invested in employee satisfaction. The nation-wide initiative is designed to share research and best practices on what makes work “work” in the 21st Century.
