Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, FACHE, serves as president and CEO of Methodist Health System. Throughout his lifetime, Dr. Mansfield has believed strongly in giving back through service to the community and taking an active role with community and civic organizations. His professional career has followed his deep commitment to serving others.
Before joining Methodist Health System, Mansfield served for six years as president and chief executive officer of St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock, Arkansas. St. Vincent operates five hospitals in central Arkansas and is the state’s second largest health system. During his tenure at St. Vincent, Mansfield received the Modern Healthcare Solucient Top 100 Performance Improvement Leader Award for 2004 and 2005, substantially improving employee, physician, and patient satisfaction, as well as financial performance across the system year after year.
Before his tenure at St. Vincent, Mansfield spent over 20 years in a variety of CEO and executive roles with the Baptist Memorial Health Care System in Memphis, Tennessee. He current serves on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board, No. 7.
Mansfield is a graduate of Ottawa University in Kansas. He received his MBA from the University of Tennessee (Martin), and his PhD in organizational leadership from Regent University. |
