Chamber Board Members Meet with Governor Perry, Lt. Governor Dewhurst, Speaker Strauss and other key legislators in Austin.

The Dallas Regional Chamber was represented in Austin by board members Robert A. Chereck, Mike Baggett, David Corrigan, Bob Estrada and Clint McDonnough and President Jim Oberwetter.
The Chamber representatives had meetings with Governor Perry, Lt. Governor Dewhurst, Speaker Strauss and other key legislators to discuss the legislative priorities for the 81st legislative session.

The Dallas Regional Chamber works on behalf of its members to address a number of public policy issues, important to the Dallas/Fort Worth region.
The Dallas Regional Chamber supports the following priority initiatives in the 81st legislative session

• Higher Education: fund new national research universities
• Transportation: stop diversions, index fuel tax, regional rail
• Water: protect future water supply options
• Health Care Initiatives: address cost, access and quality
• Economic Development: maintain incentives and tools
• Public Education:  accountability, assessment, resources
• Environment: fund TERP and LIRAP
