More than 800 technology leaders from across the greater Dallas region will assemble to hear Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corporation, Steve Ballmer’s insights on the impact of the economy on information technology, at the Chamber’s 9th Annual State of Technology Luncheon and Innovation Showcase. The event, held May 7, 2009, will be hosted at the Dallas Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B, 650 S. Griffin St., Dallas.
Each year, the State of Technology keynote speaker addresses a cutting-edge aspect of the technology industry and its impact on the greater Dallas region. A dynamic speaker, Ballmer has infused Microsoft with his own brand of energetic leadership, vision and spirit and is expected to bring this same level of enthusiasm to the luncheon on May 7.
Ballmer joined Microsoft Corporation in 1980 and was the first business manager hired by Bill Gates. Together with Gates and other company leaders, he is focused on continuing Microsoft's innovation and leadership across the company's seven businesses.
Hosted by the Chamber’s Technology Business Council, this year’s State of Technology luncheon is expected to draw record attendance with more than 800 industry leaders and executives. In conjunction with the luncheon is the Innovation Showcase, open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where more than 40 companies will showcase their cutting-edge products and services with hands-on exhibits.
