Chamber’s 13th Annual International Business Achievement Awards Luncheon and Expo a Great Success!

On Thursday, November 13th, the Chamber’s International Business Council hosted its 13th Annual International Business Achievement Awards (IBAA) Luncheon and Expo. The event was a great success, featuring a VIP Reception, an International Expo, Awards Ceremony and Luncheon.

This year, the event introduced a series of video presentations of the award finalists and recipients. The videos showcased interviews from the companies’ CEOs and Presidents, in which they talked about their international business strategy, past obstacles overcome and the benefits of running a company in the North Texas region.

Following the Awards’ Presentation Chamber Board Member, Frank Roby, CEO of Holmes Murphy Texas, led a fireside chat featuring 2008 Award Recipients Jeff Fegan, CEO, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; Guillermo Perales, President and CEO, Sun Holdings LLC; and Steven Lampert, President, KidKraft, L.P.

Frank Roby’s in-depth knowledge and expertise of the North Texas region and the local business community made him a valuable addition to this year’s program. The group discussed globalization, including offering advice for the new presidential administration and how to achieve international success in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) region.

The event proved to be a success, attracting attendees from all over the metroplex to participate in the region’s most prominent international awards presentation.

The International Business Achievement Awards are presented annually by the Chamber’s International Business Council to a large corporation, a small to mid-size company and an outstanding individual or community organization whose global successes and civic involvement have positively impacted the North Texas region. Recipients' successes exemplify the innovative spirit of North Texas and raise awareness of DFW as a prime international business destination.
