Help Your Organization Live a Healthier Work-Life Balance with Live Healthy Dallas

We all want our employees to be healthy. After all, they’re our friends and colleagues as well as our co-workers. The first annual Live Healthy Dallas 100-Day Challenge motivated local employers to lose over 8,600 lbs and track over 330,000 miles. Pilot participants included: American Cancer Society, Baylor Health Care System, Frost Bank, Dallas Regional Chamber, Grubb & Ellis, Hailstone Insurance, Health Fitness, Holmes Murphy Dallas, Lake Highlands United Methodist, Lockton Dunning Benefits, and PricewaterhouseCoopers to name a few. For company leaders like you and me, worker health also is an important business issue, as satisfied, healthy employees are more likely to help your business grow.

You can begin moving your company toward a culture of wellness, through the Chambers Wellness Initiative – Live Healthy Dallas. Kicking-off in 2009 is an exciting opportunity to jumpstart your wellness efforts: The Live Healthy Dallas —100 Day Wellness Challenge, January 14-April 23, 2009.

Live Healthy Dallas is a 100-day challenge during which co-workers can team up to track weight loss and physical activity. Each week, team members report their progress through the Live Healthy Dallas 100 Day Challenge Web site, www.livehealthydallas.org. Friendly competition can be fun and motivating for team members who can check the site’s leader board to see where their team ranks in the challenge or in the community. There also are chances to win prizes for team and individual activities throughout the 100-days.

It’s easy to team up and get involved in Live Healthy Dallas — 100 Day Challenge. Your role as an employer is to form a 2-10 person team(s) and provide participants the support they need to get involved, stay motivated, and make changes to improve their health. This activation kit includes everything you need join the challenge, including registration details and materials to begin recruiting team members.
