Todd Howard, Leadership Dallas Alumni and graduate of Al Gore’s “The Climate Project” - believes the world’s climate crisis is not just a political issue, it’s a human issue. A Texas A&M graduate and founder and president of t. howard & associates architects, a firm dedicated to the practice of sustainable design, Howard was one of only 1,000 volunteers selected and trained by the Climate Project to deliver the key messages from Al Gore’s award winning film, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Traveling to community organizations across the United States, Australia and Great Britain, Todd and fellow volunteers challenge citizens and governments into action against global climate change.
The Young Professionals will host Mr. Howard for a breakfast and presentation on August 19 at the Park City Club Dallas (5956 Sherry Lane) from 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM. This breakfast will provide an inside look at the Climate Project, as well as updates on “green” initiatives and how you can make an individual difference.
A topic surrounded by debate, Howard firmly believes that climate change is a direct result of human factors and believes that there are a number of options to reduce the impact, including simple changes such as using less energy or switching to compact fluorescent bulbs. “Don’t we believe that some of the things we can do individually are the right things for the environment?”
Don’t miss out on this meaningful presentation about one of society’s most pressing issues. The event is free to YP members, $25for Chamber members, and $40 for non-members. Click here to register. YP Members RSVP to yp@dallaschamber.org.
