Workforce development is about more than hiring and training the right workers. It is about identifying and addressing other critical factors such as transportation, health care, and childcare that enable people to work and advance in their careers.
A few innovative employers are raising the bar by offering flexibility to employees through flextime, shorter workweeks, teamwork and more accountability.
Through the DFW Winning Workplaces Award Ceremony, the Chamber recognizes local businesses invested in preserving employee satisfaction by investing in workplace flexibility.
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, August 27th from 12-1:30 PM as we congratulate winners of the 2008 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility and Dallas Regional Chamber Employer Excellence Award. The luncheon will include a panel discussion with award finalists sharing what workplace flexibility means in their organization and how it can ultimately boost YOUR bottom line.
The Greater Dallas Chamber Employer Excellence Awards are awarded to Chamber Member companies recognized by the Dallas Business Journal and Fortune Magazine’s ‘Best Places to Work’ lists.
The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of When Work Works, a national project on workplace effectiveness and flexibility sponsored by Families and Work Institute in partnership with the Institute for a Competitive Workforce, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Twiga Foundation. Presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to companies nationwide that have successfully used flexibility to meet both business and employee goals.
