Dallas ISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa to Deliver Annual “State of the District”

The Dallas Regional Chamber together with Presenting Sponsor, Capital One, N.A., are proud to Present the annual State of the District Luncheon, updating the Dallas business community on the district’s current and future activities and initiatives. The luncheon event will be held on September 23 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (400 Olive, Dallas) from noon – 1:30 PM.

Dr. Michael Hinojosa, Superintendent of Schools for the Dallas Independent School District, will update the business community on Dallas ISD programs such as the Road to Broad and Dallas Achieves!, as well as the district's High School Redesign efforts, and new changes as a result of the bond program passing. Superintendent Hinojosa will also review the current challenges and goals of the district.

Dr. Hinojosa was named general superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District in April of 2005, by a unanimous vote of the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees. As superintendent of the 12th largest district in the nation with over 160,000 students enrolled in 217 school facilities, Dr. Hinojosa’s top priorities include: improving student achievement, ensuring safety for all students, nurturing, encouraging and training teachers, acting fiscally responsible, and improving facilities to create the best learning environment.
